Music

Playing and creating music has always been one of my greatest joys and the original compositions that follow are divided into two broad groups.

The first group, 'cave music', are more reflective, tranquil, Yin pieces that, I hope, whilst still being musically intersting, will give the listener plenty of space to think, or meditate, or imagine what they will. The second group, 'forest music', are more rhythmic, dynamic, Yang pieces that may be somewhat more absorbing in and of themselves!

Because I feel that they in some way reflect one or more of their qualities, or virtues, each of the following compositions are dedicated to one of the herbs that I have come to know and love. I also wanted to mention that, in a few of the pieces, I am playing the violin that came to me from my great grandmother and that, like the herbs, has also been a dear and constant companion throughout my life.

I know, of course, that we all have different tastes in what we like, including music but, if you will give some of your precious time to listen to any of these pieces, then I thank you for your interest and can only hope that any of them might give you even a tiny part of the great pleasure I have had in bringing them to life!
